Doherty High School opened its doors in the fall of 1975. The school is named for Thomas Bernard Doherty, who served as superintendent of School District 11 from 1964 – 1977. Doherty is currently at building capacity with over 2,000 students enrolled, making it the most populous school in the district. Parents have camped in front of the doors for up to 72 hours hoping to receive a permit allowing their children to attend Doherty.

Missile Mountain is Colorado’s only hybrid banked track/flat track roller derby league. While we are not co-ed, we do have a men's team and a women's team. We have competitive teams, and also a recreational team, for those who just want to have fun. Our track, “Betsy”, was built by our skaters, friends, family, and volunteers. In the modern tradition of do-it-yourself roller derby, as resurrected in Texas in 2000, Missile Mountain is an entirely volunteer run organization, relying on the support of its fans and the entire front range community.

The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site is an educational, non-profit living history farm and museum that depicts life in the Pikes Peak region in four time periods: American Indian area in 1775; 1860’s Galloway Homestead; 1880’s Chambers Home and Ranch; 1907 Edwardian Country Estate. The spirited history of the West comes to life at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. You are invited to explore the lifestyles and homes of the Pikes Peak Region's early inhabitants. Knowledgeable interpreters will assist you on your journey through one of the nation’s premier historic sites. The American Indian area is the only one west of the Mississippi. Several periods of development took place on this property and significant historic structures remain here. These historic buildings have been carefully restored to their original appearance. The Ranch was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Security Service Field, formerly known as Sky Sox Stadium, is a professional baseball stadium on the eastern edge of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The stadium is the home of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the AAA-level affiliate of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team.
