Walk into Bonefish Grill on any night of the week and you will find yourself among the throngs of other seafood lovers who have flocked to this relative newcomer in the Colorado Springs culinary scene.
Bonefish has drawn a large crowd seemingly every night since its recent opening, particularly for the $5 Bang Bang Shrimp on Wednesdays. One of Bonefish’s signature appetizers, Bang Bang Shrimp is lightly battered, served over a bowl of lettuce, and topped with a mouthwatering hot chili sauce. This appetizer is perfect before any of their meals, and even makes a great entrée for those who just can’t get enough. For those who may prefer a milder shrimp dish, the coconut shrimp served with a sweet Thai chili sauce is an amazing alternative.
Bonefish’s wide varieties of grilled fish entrees offer a refreshing taste of the sea in landlocked Colorado. Among their offerings are Alaskan Halibut, Chilean Sea Bass, Mahi Mahi, and Lobster Tails, any of which can be paired with their Mango Salsa, Chimichurri Sauce, Lemon Butter, or Pan Asian Sauce. My frequent favorite pairing lately has been the Chilean Sea Bass served with the Mango Salsa served with garlic mashed potatoes.
As the name suggests, Bonefish specializes in seafood entrees, but for those who are not crazy about fish they have some excellent options. The chicken marsala served with garlic mashed potatoes was grilled perfectly, juicy, and the marsala sauce was exactly what marsala should be.
Along with the large crowds has occasionally come somewhat slow service, but the wait for the food has always been well worth it.
Bonefish’s upscale atmosphere, unbeatable special nights, and creative, delectable entrees have never ceased to satisfy the seafood lover in all of us.
