A recent Saturday night visit to Paravicini’s Italian Bistro had me reminiscing about good, authentic, locally owned Italian restaurants. I am very happy to report that Paravicini’s has it all figured out, from the neighborhood atmosphere to the fabulous food and the attentive service.
Our latest visit brought us during restaurant week and this bistro was crowded, but in a feel good way. We had one of those old fashioned things called reservations (wonder if my grandkids will know what that means) and we were seated promptly by the gracious maitre d'. The place was busy and humming and made you feel like you were right where you were supposed to be.
We began the evening with appetizers and what a treat they were. Excellent delicate calamari with a nice marinara sauce and the best eggplant fries I have ever tasted, very tender and not at all greasy. The Caesar salad was very good and the homemade bread was rustic style, crusty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.
Our entrée choices included the fabulously prepared Tilapia Florentine and a delicious Chicken Saltimbocca, both of which I highly recommend. Other great entrée choices include Scallops alla Pesto, Shrimp Scampi, Eggplant Parmigiana and Veal Picatta. Paravicini’s has an extensive wine list but we chose the house Chianti which was very nice and easy on the palate.
Enjoy a night out with friends or family at Paravicini’s, a great Neighborhood Italian Bistro located in Old Colorado City, minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs.
