Description

Impact on Colorado Springs, and The Disease in the World Today

Tuberculosis (TB) is considered one of the oldest contagious diseases, it was known as consumption in the 1800s and was responsible for an estimated quarter of all deaths in Europe. By the 1880s and 1890s, Colorado Springs had more than a third of the city’s residents being treated for TB. After a docent tour of the TB exhibits, we convene to discuss more on its treatment, medical breakthroughs, and the disease in today’s world.
